About Swami Shrikarananda
Swami Shrikarananda (Swamiji) is the Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Sydney at the Chinmaya Sannidhi Ashram at 38 Carrington Rd, Castle Hill since Year 2004.
In addition, Swamiji is the Acharya in charge of spreading the Chinmaya vision in Queensland and ACT for the past 10 years. In all these years, Swamiji is a living example of Chinmaya Mission’s motto – “To give maximum happiness to the maximum people for the maximum time”.
He is overall in charge of every activity that takes place in these 3 states dealing with the Committee, Volunteers, Youth Wing
(CHYKS), Teenage Wing (Junior CHYKS), Children Wing (Bal Vihar children) and Toddlers Wing (Sishu Vihar), scriptural classes in Public schools and study classes. In addition to all these, Swamiji conducts yagnas, retreats for all ages spreading the teachings of Vedanta.
Swamiji emphasizes the importance of devotion as the integral part of one’s spiritual life by celebrating major Hindu festivals at Sannidhi and thus imparts the value of Bhakti among the young and old. Swamiji , never hesitates, to step in and comfort the devotees when in distress and is available at all times when there is a need of his physical presence as a friend, teacher, & counsellor.
Swamiji is humble and never misses an opportunity to inspire the devotees by saying “I am also in this journey with all of you. Gurudev has said that he is waiting for us and hence let us hasten slowly together towards Self Realisation”.
True to the Guru – Sishya tradition and lineage to which he belongs to , Swamiji has clarity , simplicity and humor in his delivery of difficult subject matter in his talks.
